the johnSONS in branSON

We just got back last night from Branson with the Johnson family for Thanksgiving! Now, before you jump to grayhaired-tour bus conclusions, let me show you how much fun it can be!
Reason 1: You get to hang with your family and be reminded that even though we are grown-most are still kids at heart. This is Pete and I trying to get a good picture (with interference) at Pierce Arrow, apparently it is "Branson's Hottest Show." Don't judge.
Reason 2: Family again can remind you of the ups and downs in life, the good times, the bad-but most of all when you think of the bonding, one might just get choked up. Take Henry (mid-cough), for example:
Reason 3: Cousin and Granparent Time
nana's birthday
Reason 4: Thanksgiving Meal, of course! Courtesy of Cracker Barrel for us and a jar of sweet potatoes for Henry.
Reason 5: New Adventures. Henry bathing in the sink.
with an audience-
jumping in new places-
jumping everytime you hold him up, especially in Papa's lap
Reason 6: Relaxing
doing Alaina's nails
nice weather
Reason 7: Fun things to do.

Hopefully, I have convinced you that Branson is a great place to make Thanksgiving memories!

25 weeks, almost 6 months old!

Last week, Henry turned 24 weeks! A couple of things happened:
*he can sit up for a few seconds on his own.
*he started sleeping on his side some.
*since the helmet, he can now roll from tummy to right, whereas before, it was just left. By the way, the helmet is going well. He doesn't even notice it.
Henry's thoughts, "Get me off my tummy!"
Three days in a row, Henry had a blow out only like an hour before needing to be in his pjs. By day three, I said, enough with this clothes changing, and he just partied in the new diaper instead.
Buddy loves Pete so much. When Pete gets home, the first one to greet him is this loyal cat. It has amazed me how much the cats don't really pay attention to Henry. For example, below, Buddy has squeezed himself in between Henry and Pete trying to get some lovin' after Pete's workday.
Buddy soaking up Pete's full attention during Henry's nap on a Saturday morning.
The progression of the johnny jump up. Two weeks ago, he cried in it, so I took it down. I brought it back out a couple days ago and he just did his, "I am checking it out stance." in it. Then, he progressed to jiggling in it. Now he is definitely jumping. It sounds kinda rickety, but he loves it anyway.

dedication weekend

We have had a fun weekend, this time with Pete's parents in town. Henry got dedicated today at our church Hope Fellowship Hope has been such a blessing to us since living here in Dallas. It is like our family away from family. Therefore, we are honored to feel proud of the location that Henry was dedicated today!

22 weeks=5 months

Last Sunday was the Fall Festival at church. Henry the Frog.
Henry's buddy, Luke, sporting the shark.
Henry is five months already!!! My goodness. Here is at 22 weeks. :) This is the morning before going to get his helmet:
Henry got his helmet on Thursday. So far, so good. He doesn't seem to mind it too much. He has also taken a new interest in his exersaucer. At first he would just stand in it, now he likes to play with the little toys on the sides.

Nana and Papa came to visit for my birthday, and to see their grandson. We had a good time!
