Henry would like you to know that he is 13 WEEKS!

Last Saturday, we went to the McKinney Farmer's Market with Henry. It is so bright in Texas that we whipped out these glasses. I think he liked them and they prevented the mega squint when we exit the house.

13 weeks today and 3 months tomorrow! Hard to believe!

Henry being his very vocal self. It is hard to get a word in edgewise. :)

12 WEEKS!!

So, I didn't know this week if Henry was 3 months because he was born on the 28th, but that is next week. After some advice from others I found out that Henry is definitely 12 weeks, but not quite 3 months. So confusing. My favorite advice was from my friend Andrea who said when she has kids she is just going to call them 0 until they are 1.

At 12 weeks:
* Henry's sleep record is 9 hours. Writing this first cause everyone and their mom asks if your baby is "sleeping through the night" yet. The answer is not consistently..but pretty close.
* He had what I thought was an eye infection this week, but actually just his tear ducts working out some kinks.
* He still loves mobiles and fans and really prefers watching them while kicking around on the floor. It is like newborns are born with pilates skills. what happens to that?
*He is wearing 6 month clothing.
*We had some fun visitors this week including two former students and Henry napped well while we swam with the Steiners on Saturday.

A couple of firsts today:
Henry actually paying attention to a book that I am reading. I think cause of the bright colors:

Henry trying out the Bumbo seat that my college roomates, Nicole and Lis gave him!

We sure are enjoying him. We are blessed!

11 Weeks!

The changing table always brings out a big ole smile from Henry. What is it about it? Watch and find out.

Today brings upon some mixed feelings. For the last five years, I have gotten back into the bustle of getting my classroom ready about now and heading in for staff development. Ironically as my teacher friends head back to Glen Oaks Elementary today, I am home. Today, Henry is 11 weeks and although I am going to miss teaching a bunch this year, I am so blessed to be home with this little guy! We have a good time.

By the way, we survived those two month shots! He did really good, probably better than me. :) The doctor said he was just perfect. He is in the 94% for weight-at 15.2. What a guy!

get by with a little help from my men...

So, I was excited to hang some things we had received as a shower gift on the wall! Usually, I am very bad at reading directions, well reading anything that is longer than a Reader's Digest article. Yet, as I said I was willing to tackle the project--even if it meant full concentration. After reading the directions, I wasn't fully visualizing what to do, so I even looked up a You Tube video to see how it was done.

Needless to say, I hung the first one backwards. Ugh. So irritating..had to take it down.

That is when I enlisted Pete's help because unlike me he seems to be a bit more detail oriented.

Long story short, Henry's wall hanging is up and looks great. I basically threw away the garbage, Pete did the rest.

I tried, I really tried.

10 weeks today!

Well, here he is 10 weeks old! Holy Cow! Here is what he is up to these days:
*As captured here, sucking his thumb is a big desire, yet rarely accomplished.
*Smiling happens frequently and not just at the mobile and fan!
*Cooing occurs often!
*Henry has a fake cry that just started this week that sounds like ahooo...ahooo..like, I am the most pitiful guy ever. (it is actually kinda funny.)
*Sleep record: 9:30-7! Almost hate to say that one out loud, just in case he hears and changes his mind.
*Two month shots tomorrow..scary. Pray for us. :)

Henry's Active Sleep

video

Turn up your volume, otherwise, you are just going to get nothing out of this video except sea sick. On occasion when HP is sleeping in the swing specifically, he tends to make noises that often resemble animals. Listen carefully and you might hear "the orca" or "the dolphin." Unfortunately "the morning dove" has not been caught on film as of yet.

a new day, but not necissarily a clean day...

Okay, I am going to do this. I am not so good at keeping up with the blogging, but I think I am going to get it down here. Everyday, I keep thinking of stories that I want to share with our families and friends that are not in Texas and everyday, I forget to make a go of it. So, here I am, hoping not to fall off the bandwagon again.

Henry has a love/hate relationship with bathing. He used to despise it, in fact I think he confused water with needles prickling him. Then, once we put the tub up on the sink and he could see his pretty little self in the mirror, I think he decided it wasn't all bad. I have even gotten a few smiles from the splashing of his feet. However, the last two baths he has not enjoyed, and today I can understand why.

Mid way through the event, Henry decided that he would add his own fluid to the bath. Now, I can see how frustrating this would be after getting soaped up and all and then having this more yellow addition added to the mix. In efforts to try to reconcile this experience, I tried to dump out the water while holding him and start again. Well, my little man decided this was too much and gave some cries. I then decided to forgo the hair washing and we ran for the towel. I hear urine is sterile so he is clean...right?

Early Bath Days-a lot bigger now. :)
