two months ago already

Heidi, I just want you to know that I am thinking of you. And truthfully when I stop and think of you and that you are gone, I ache to talk to you, text about the bachelor, or share the latest henryism. I know you are fine, but I just want you to know that I miss you.
Two months ago -april25- you were taken from us. A lot of times people say to someone that is close to them "you're like family." Well, seeing that you are my family, I miss you cause "you're like a friend" to me. I still stand back and find comfort knowing that you are in a better place, I really don't know what I would do without that hope. But it doesn't necessarily make being here on Earth easier. If I could call you today, I would tell you that:
*I sent you a video of Henry walking.
*Ali, the bachelorette, is not my favorite. I think she is just in it for the fame.
*I posted a video on facebook of Peter dancing that I know you would enjoy.
*and that I love you.
A couple weeks ago, Pete and I went through some pictures and tried to take out the ones with you so we could look at them more regularly. Somehow in the bustle of us packing up, they got wet and a lot are sticking together. :( But here are a couple classics that you would like.

the beauty of an early bird

Yeah! We have had such a fun Saturday! We've been so busy packing and painting and organizing the last couple of weeks; it was nice to have a fun morning! And...with a little boy who likes to get up around 7, we've already done so much and it is only 12:30! We just got back from our family outing to Allen:
Pretty cool, big guy riding forward:

our story

We are blessed to be in the most amazing church (hope fellowship) in the world and within that we have such a neat small group. Our new series, as of last night, was on "our story." and how our life relates to that. I sort of feel, in a way that we are at the part of the story where I am anxiously anticipating the resolution. However, we also talked about how the little things in our life - day to day- are a story and for that I think I had a pretty awesome story today.
The characters: Henry and I
Objective: having adventures on a summer day
Once upon a time, in blazing hot Texas, Henry and I went to beat the heat and take a neighborhood walk. We didn't realize that our life would pass before our eyes as a neighbor dog (rottwieler) came charging at us growling and barking-owner not in sight. My heart almost popped out of my chest. The owner came running from the backyard-gate open shouting, "He's friendly!" The growls and barks, however, told me not to let my guard down. As Henry and I walked away, neighbor apologizing, I almost in tears, I thought to myself, well, now, isn't that an interesting start to my story today.
AND then this happened!!
About midday, I had an amazingly proud mommy moment as my son, beaming took about ten or eleven steps! Nothing beats being able to be there for those moments.
This evening I am home with my loving husband, a baby who has just been put down to sleep, and I have to be thankful for the times today that made me remember that my story is pretty cool.
