aaron is 3 three months!

This sweet little guy is 3 months. He is so happy and smiley...all...the...time. We love him so much. He is quite chatty. He watches Henry's every moves and I can tell he thinks he is a pretty cool big brother. Aaron is pretty laid back and just a joy to have in our family.

birthday posts interuption

We interrupt this series of birthday posts to bring some news of a birth (and the fact that the other 3rd birthday pictures are still on pete's phone...) -------- It has been 2 months since sweet Aaron Matthew entered the world! I must write this down before I forget the details! June 27th, 2012 - 8 pm - ate a blizzard. probably not a smart move. June 28th, 2012 - 1:15am - what the heck- I cannot sleep! I am sooooooooo uncomfortable. shouldn't have eaten that blizzard. 3:30 am- um. pete? I think I might be having some contractions. 4:30 am- um. pete! Nighttime is over! You probably are not going to go to work today. 6:30 am- contractions are 5 minutes apart - phone call to pete's mom. 7:30 am- we head to the hospital. each bump in the road is definitely felt. get to the hospital. check in and i think-this is a piece of cake.I am dilated to a 5 and 85% effaced. labor? no problem. well, come to find out my labor had actually stopped until about 11:30 am when the nurse came in with a huge knitting needle to break my water. 11:30 am-suddenly labor intensified and i thought well, here we go! Henry was similar timing and was born at 1:30ish. drugs? nah. i've got this... 1:30 pm. are you kidding me? henry would have been born by now! Apparently Aaron was in a stuck like interesting position that was giving him some trouble getting down the canal. 3:30 pm. please! give me some drugs! too late?! you've got to be joking... 4:13 or 17, i am having trouble remembering... pm- Sweet little Aaron Matthew entered the world!
It is hard to believe he is two months already! We just love him to pieces!!

a little birthday breakfast bash with the Ericksons
As you can tell, Henry's favorite part of birthdays is not singing the birthday song.

last month of being 2!

I cannot believe this is Henry's last month of being two! As he is getting bigger, older, wiser, and funnier, there are many times, Pete and I say - we've got to write that down. So, here I sit attempted to record a few that of course I never wrote down.
this morning-me, "Henry, are you going to paint a new picture at school today?" h, "nonsense, mommy. Painting hurts God's feelings."
the other day at dinner. pete, "Henry, you know the baby in your mom's tummy?..." H, "you mean in her uterus?"
after not seeing pete the day before, h woke up and gave a very solemn monologue:"I miss daddy, and Jesus took away our Christmas tree." (thinking pete and i are not doing the best job at teaching theology around here.)
Before this picture was taken, h exclaimed, "I have the best hiding spot!"
In all seriousness, h told me that: "we have never had a lion wearing sunglasses, watching a video, at our house before." -true fact. I am sure there are more, but of course I must start writing them down better. Have a good day!

2 years

2 years. Wow. Has it really been that long since our sweet Heidi went to meet her maker? These two years behind us have been in many ways a whirlwind. A loss, a move and adjusting to what one may call a new normal. I don't think we will ever be over this death; she is in our thoughts on a daily basis and there is definitely a noticed absent without her joyful presence in our lives. However, God continues to be faithful. We are blessed in many ways. Cause most importantly, we still have each other. And really the hope of seeing her again. Seriously, what do people do without that?! Henry has been asking about her a lot lately in his sweet two year old way. He often will say, "Who lives with Jesus again? " and we always say, "Aunt Heidi who knew you when you were little and loved you very much." I think he likes hearing her name. Of course, we wish she could be with us. Especially thinking of the time together tonight being together in honor of her memory. I wish she could see these guys growing up. But I know in many ways, she can. Here's some pictures for you, Aunt Heidi. Hope you can see them from above. There is a lot of love here-and still so much for you:
